Creating a Facebook Audience that focuses in the right Targeting is important for marketing on social media, to help Generate Leads for your Product or Service that actual may be interested in your offering; begin by first being specific about the Interests your audience have.
You may also consider associating custom audiences you had already to the particular audience you are getting ready to create in facebook. This is good because it allows you to narrow down your targeting even more.
Custom audiences are ideal for a list of contacts you like to import, to let say the number of people who engaged with your facebook page or content; as well as the visitors who loaded your website pages.

When you finish up on each section carefully is a good starting point, however it really gets very exciting on the targeting side of things; where you may show your advertising campaigns to only a group of people based on an interest or on a job title to mention just my two most popular options.

For example to wrap this up is that if I'm targeting business owners who are interested in a website or a computer let say, why am I creating an ad copy that says start a business from home or promote business opportunities as that may not be so relevant to the individual I targeted; and so in this situation a great example is let me help you manage your business from home using your very own computer let say which may have more of an impact to the individual.
Keep these 2 elements in place when creating a facebook audience, who are you targeting where you do so from the audiences tool side; and then creating your ad copy with relevancy to the audience you created. The key ingredient here I find useful is focus your time on creating your audiences outside creating your ad. Then when you are ready to create your ad take your time on the creative process without worrying about the audience because that was already done you just need to pick it from the list and go.
